McClain Runs Personal Best to Lead Huskies at Pre-National Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
 Sophomore Tessa McClain placed 16th in the women's open 6K race with a personal-best time of 21:30.00 to lead the Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams at the Pre-National Invitational on Friday at Apalachee Regional Park.
  • On the women's side, sophomore Azza Borovicka-Swanson (22:01.80, PB) and freshman Nicole Dunbury (22:35.50, PB) joined McClain as the top three performers for the women's team.
  • Senior Alexander Korczynski lead the men's team, finishing with a time of 24:05.10 in the men's 8K garnet race.
  • Freshman Benjamin Godish (24:25.20) and senior Matthew Schaefer (24:45.40) ran personal-best times to round out the top three performers for the men's team.
  • The women's team placed sixth overall in the women's open 6K race. The men's team placed 29th overall in the men's garnet 8K race.
The Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 22 at the CCSU Mini Meet.
