Huskies Collect Four Individual Victories vs. Drexel, BC


FINAL RESULTS

BOSTON –
Hosting its first meet since January 2020, the Northeastern women's swimming and diving team went head to head against Boston College and Drexel with the Eagles (179-120) and Dragons (157-142) both edging the Huskies on Saturday at Barletta Natatorium.
 
Northeastern entered the day leading Drexel, 28-10, and trailing Boston College 23-15 following Friday's diving events. On Saturday, relay events earned 11 points for first place, four for second place and two for third place. Individual events earned nine points for first place, four for second place, three for third, two for second place and one for fifth place.
 
The Huskies came away with four victories on the day, including Grace Miller in the 200-yard Freestyle (1:54.70) and Jamie Koo in the 50-yard Freestyle (23.56), 100-yard Freestyle (52.70) and 100-yard Butterfly (55.43).
 
• The Huskies started the day with a third place finish in the 200-yard Medley Relay as the team of Katherine Hong, Victoria Austin, Emily Cooley and Stella Urness clocked in with a time of 1:48.63
• Mary Banick picked up two points towards the team standings with a fourth place finish in the 1000-yard Freestyle, finishing at 10:49.60
•  Miller won a tight race in the 200-yard Freestyle at 1:54.70, and also collected a second place finish in the 500-yard Freestyle later in the day (5:05.90).
• Hong went stroke-for-stroke with BC's Claire Russell in Heat 1 of the 100-yard Backstroke, with Hong finishing second in the heat and eighth overall at 59.42
• Kate Cosgrove collected another impressive performance for Northeastern, clocking in at 57.53 seconds for a second place finish in the 100-yard Backstroke. Cosgrove also finished third in the first heat of the 200-yard Backstroke (2:08.34), ninth overall.
• Francesca Arciniegas (2:12.66) and Mia Thomas (2:13.32) went 1-2 for the Huskies in the opening heat of the 200-yard Butterfly, good for fourth and fifth overall.
• Jamie Koo had a strong race in the 50-yard Freestyle, winning with a time of 23.56 seconds. Koo followed it up with yet another victory in the 100-yard Free at 52.70 seconds and 100-yard Butterfly (55.43).
• Bailey Smith (2:04.34) and Devon Muldoon (2:04.89) finished second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard Backstroke. Muldoon went on to finish third in the 200-yard IM at 2:08.69.
• Cooley, Urness, Angela Woronko and Mikita Pelletier wrapped up the day for Northeastern with a third place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay at 1:37.77.
 
The Huskies will return to the pool in two weeks when Northeastern travels to Boston University for the Terrier Invitational, beginning on Nov. 19.
