BOSTON –
Dylan Jackson earned his fourth goal of the season to lead No.16 Northeastern (8-6-2 Hockey East) in a 4-1 loss against UMass Lowell (5-7-0 Hockey East) on Friday inside Matthew's Arena.
Connor Murphy made 18 saves on the night.
Early in the first period, Jackson put one right past the River Hawks goaltender with a nifty pass into the crease with help from
Gunnarwolfe Fontaine and
Tyler Spott. Fontaine posted his eighth assist of the season while Spott earned his fifth.
Connor Sodergren and Charlie Levesque each notched a goal in the first period for the River Hawks. After a scoreless second period and the Huskies down 2-1, Levesque scored his second of the game with Seth Barton closing out the night in the final seconds of play on an empty net goal.
The No.16 Huskies and River Hawks will battle again on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Tsongas Center. The game can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub (HD2) and watched on College Sports Live.
