Huskies Push Past URI in Exhibition Match, 3-1

BOSTON -- Jack Monte, Federico Tellez, and Timothy Ennin each posted goals to push Northeastern past Rhode Island in a 3-1 exhibition win on Saturday afternoon at Parsons Field. The Huskies outshot the Rams 10-5. 

Colby Hegarty made 2 saves including a PK save. Zach Sauer had the lone assist for the Huskies. 

Monte opened scoring for the Huskies with a header off of a cross from Sauer late in the first half. As the remainder of the first half stayed scoreless, the second half was kicked off by a URI foul inside Northeastern's box giving Ennin an opportunity to score off a PK. Tellez finished the day with a solid goal late in the second half to give the Huskies a 3-0 lead. Rhode Island scored its lone goal off a PK to finish the match with a final score of 3-2. 

Northeastern hosts its first-regular season game against UMASS on Sunday Feb. 14.
