Alexander Korczynski,
Cameron Dickson, and
Tessa McClain led the Northeastern men and women's cross country teams to a first and second place finish at the CAA Cross Country Championships on Friday morning.
Korczynski and Dickson crossed the finish line in second and third place in the men's 8K, with times of 23:45.70 and 23:52.20, respectively, to lead the Huskies into a conference victory for the second time in NU history (America East 1988). Northeastern finished with seven all-conference athletes including
Patrick Mullen (24:33.70),
Matthew Schaefer (24:41.80),
Eric Clay (24:46.80),
Nicholas Young (24:51.50), and
Max Spencer (24:52.60), all finishing top 12 in the men's 8K.
Bryan Keller (24:52.90),
Malav Mehta (25:17.70), and
Patrick Cullen (25:36.10) also followed suit finishing in the top 20.
Northeastern successfully put an end to William & Mary's 20-year conference championship streak while earning 27 points to outpace the Tribe (61).
For the first time in program history, the Huskies earned a runner-up finish in the women's 6K led by freshman McClain as she notched a sixth place and all-conference finish with a time of 20:16.40.
Abigail Hassman and
Juliet Bussell also finished top 20 for Northeastern with times of 20:43.70 and 20:45.90, respectively.
