Northeastern earns second highest spring term GPA

BOSTON – Returning to a full semester of coursework and competition, Northeastern student-athletes have again achieved high academic success as the Huskies collectively yielded a 3.405 GPA during the spring 2021 term – the department's highest mark for a semester featuring complete athletic opportunity.

With its spring 2021 books set down, Northeastern has proudly posted a department GPA above 3.0 for the 27th consecutive semester, continuing its streak that now runs longer than 13 years. The Huskies' spring 2021 GPA also ranks as the program's third highest semester mark to date, trailing both terms from the 2020 calendar year: spring (3.605) and fall (3.417).

At the individual level, 30 Northeastern student-athletes attained perfect, 4.0 GPAs – part of the 99 student-athletes who garnered Top Dog distinction for recording a 3.8 GPA or higher. More than half of the Huskies taking classes (219 of 405) earned Dean's List recognition for registering a 3.5 GPA or above while 81 percent of Northeastern's student-athlete body achieved at least a 3.0 GPA.

For the third consecutive semester, all Northeastern varsity programs earned a 3.0 GPA or above, headlined by the women's cross country team's department-leading 3.723 GPA.
