Fernie Flaman Head Men's Hockey Coach Jerry Keefe officially introduced Tommy Miller, Jakov Novak, and Evan Fear as the three transfers joining the Huskies ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Defenseman
Hometown: West Bloomfield, Michigan
Previous team: Michigan State University (Big Ten)
  • Totaled five goals and 27 points in 135 games with MSU
  • Winner of Dr. John Downs Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award at MSU
  • Led the Big Ten in blocked shots last season; has the second most blocks in MSU program history
Jakov Novak
Jakov Novak
Position:
Forward
Hometown: Windsor, Ontario
Previous team: Bentley University (AHA)
  • Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the seventh round of the 2018 NHL Draft
  • Totaled 30 goals and 62 points in 87 games with Bentley
  • Played in all 37 games his freshman season
Evan Fear

Goaltender
Hometown: Winnekta, Illinois
Previous team: Quinnipiac (ECAC)
  • 2019-20 AHCA All-American Scholar
  • 2019-20 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team
  • Has yet to allow a goal in six collegiate appearances
Keefe also officially introduced Matt Choupani, Cam Gaudette, Justin Hryckowian, Jack Hughes, Chase McInnis, TJ Semptimphelter, and Ryan St. Louis as the seven freshmen who will be joining the team going into the 2021-22 season.

  • Scored 37 goals with 37 assists in 95 career games with the Buccaneers
  • Named to the Second Rookie All-Star Team (USHL)
  • With Lac St. Louis from 2014-19 and played with the Lions (QMAAA) for two seasons scoring 60 goals and 51 assists in 82 games
Cam Gaudette
Cam Gaudette

Forward
Hometown: Braintree, Massachusets
Previous team: Maryland Black Bears (NAHL)
  • Played 2020-21 season with the Maryland Black Bears (NAHL) while putting up three goals and 12 assists in 54 games
  • Named defenseman of the month in the NAHL for April
  • Played with the Northeast Generals (NAHL) putting up 13 goals and 35 assists in 114 games over parts of three seasons 
Justin Hryckowian

Hometown:  Île Bizard, Quebec
Previous team: Sioux City Musketeers (USHL)
  • Named captain for the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL) where he had 17 goals and 21 assists in 44 games his final season
  • With the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL) in 2019-20 and had four goals with 10 assists in 17 games
  • In 2018-19, he played for the Salisbury School (Salisbury, Conn., USHS-Prep) and put up 17 goals with 28 assists in 26 games ranking second on the team in points

Previous team: US National Team Development Program (USHL)
  • Played with the USA U18 team in the World Championships and put up one goal with one assist in four games
  • With USNTDP (USHL) for two seasons and had nine goals and 17 assists in 43 games
  • Played with the U.S. National U18 team (USDP) and in 38 games had eight goals and 26 assists 
Chase McInnis

Hometown: Hingham, Massachusets
Previous team: Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL)
  • Played the last two seasons with the Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL) with 11 goals and 24 assists in 77 games
  • Played with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers (NCDC) and put up two goals and two assists in 14 games
  • Had 35 goals with 57 assists over 87 games for the Dexter Southfield School (USHS).
TJ Semptimphelter
TJ Semptimphelter
Position: Goaltender
Hometown: Marlton, New Jersey
Previous team: Boston Jr. Bruins (NCDC)
  • Recorded a 2.05 GAA and .933 save percentage in 30 games for the Jr. Bruins
  • Selected and played in two NCDC All-Star games
  • NCDC All-Star Game Player of the Game in his first appearance
Ryan St. Louis

Hometown: Tampa, Florida
Previous team: US National Team Development Program (USHL)
  • Played the last two seasons with the USNTDP (USHL) and recorded 14 goals with 12 assists in 50 games
  • Named to the USA U18 World Championship Team
  • Participant in the 2021 Biosteel All-American game
