Huskies Conclude Competition at the Battle in Beantown

BOSTON –
 Senior Alexander Korczynski placed 27th in the men's 8K race with a time of 25:00 and sophomore Azza Borovicka-Swanson finished in 63rd place in the women's 5K with a time 18:26 to lead the Northeastern men's and women's cross country team at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday at Franklin Park.
  • The men's team claimed 10th place and the women's team finished in 14th place. Both the men and women earned a team finish significantly higher than they did in their last appearance at the meet in 2019. 
  • Senior Matthew Schaefer joined Korczynski in the top 50, finishing in 41st place in the men's 8K with a time of 25:13.
  • Sophomores Abigail Hassman and Tessa McClain joined Borovicka-Swanson as Northeastern's top three runners in the women's 5K race. Hassman ran a time 18:28 and McClain finished with a time of 18:31. 
The Northeastern men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action at the New England Championships on Saturday, Oct. 9 in Boston.
