Godish Leads the Men to Second, Women Finish Third at Penn State National Open

COLLEGE PARK, Pa. – The Northeastern cross country program had the men place second and the women place third at the Penn State National Open in College Park, Pa., this morning.
 
Men (5.2-mile, Second Place)
  • Sophomore Benjamin Godish took first place in the 5.2-mile event with a time of 24:54.8, winning by just under four seconds in front of second place. The first-place finish was his first since his collegiate debut a year ago in Vermont.
  • Matthew Schaefer (25:23.2) followed behind in tenth place, while Alexander Korczynski came in 11th place with a time of 25:25.4.
  • Patrick Cantlon (26:04.3) and Mason Gatewood (26:04.6) came in side-by-side in 27th and 28th place, respectively.
  • Patrick Cullen finished in 37th with a time of 26:11.8, while Patrick Mullen (26:54.0) and Kyle Sarney (26:57.4) rounded it out for the Huskies.
 
Women (6K, Third Place)  
The Huskies will compete again tomorrow in the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park.
