WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.—The Northeastern women's soccer team fell to the Monmouth Hawks, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon in its final game of the regular season.
With the regular season wrapped up, the Huskies own the No. 3 seed in the CAA tournament and will travel down to Drexel. Northeastern will face the sixth-seeded Stony Brook University Seawolves on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 5:30 p.m. on Drexel's Vidas Field.
- Locked in a defensive battle, sophomore Megan Putvinski broke the scoreless deadlock in the 30th minute after driving home a pass from junior Jessie Hunt. Junior Avery LeVangie also earned an assist on the goal.
- Just under five minutes after Putvinski's goal, Monmouth would draw the game level at 1-1 with a goal from Lauren Karabin.
- The Hawks went on to score the eventual game-winner in the 57th minute.
- Graduate student goalkeeper Holland Stam finished with four saves on the day.
