NEWARK, Del. – The Northeastern cross country program tallied a pair of runner-up team finishes at the CAA Cross Country Championships in Newark, Del., today.
Abigail Hassman made history, becoming the first runner in Northeastern history to win the women's individual CAA title. Hassman ran a time of 21:12.70 in the women's 6K event to take the top spot.
Alexander Korczynski claimed his second consecutive individual CAA title, finishing first in the men's 8K event with a time of 24:09.60.
The women had four All-CAA members as a result of the performance with Hassman, Tessa McClain, Azza Borovicka-Swanson, and Ava Duggan. While the men had four as well in Korczynski, Benjamin Godish,

Women's 6K (2nd)
- McClain was second across the finish line for Northeastern, finishing in sixth place with a time of 21:47.90.
- Borovicka-Swanson (22:01.60) and Ava Duggan (22:02.00) came in side-by-side in 12th and 13th, respectively.
- Isa Meyers placed 17th with a time of 22:11.60, while Vivian McMahon followed in 22nd with a time of 22:26.20.
- Nora Blodgett (23:04.00), Madison Neuner (23:08.20), Shannon Trevor (23:14.60), and Anna Schaller (23:43.90) rounded it out for the Huskies.
- The women finished with an average time of 21:51.10.
Men's 8K (2nd)
- Godish followed closely behind, earning a second-place finish with a time of 24:10.90. The time was a season-best in the 8K for Godish.
- Schaefer secured an eighth-place finish with a time of 24:57.50, while Cullen came in 11th at 25:15.50.
- More Huskies finished strong in the top-25 with Malav Mehta (25.28.70) in 17th, Nicholas Young (25:36.10) in 19th, Tyler Brogan (25:41.30) in 22nd, and Patrick Mullen (25:42.30) in 24th.
- Finishing up for Northeastern was Patrick Cantlon at 25:44.00, Mason Gatewood at 25:51.70, Dylan Manning at 26:17.20 and Kyle Sarney at 26:21.40. All the Huskies were within the top-40 in their finishes.
- The men finished with an average time of 24:48.70.
Northeastern will be back in action at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Nov. 11.
