PROVIDENCE, R.I.— The No. 8/7 Northeastern women's hockey team fell to the No. 13 Providence College Friars, 3-0, on Tuesday evening at Schneider Arena.
- The two sides played to a scoreless first stanza. Northeastern held the Friars to just three shots on goal in the opening frame.
- Providence was able to get on the board with a power-play at the 7:38 mark of the second period to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Friars got another power-play tally at the 4:38 mark of the third period to take a 2-0 lead. PC then closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal with three seconds remaining in the game.
- Senior Gwyneth Philips finished with 10 saves, while junior Abbey Marohn and graduate student Maude Poulin-Labelle led the Huskies with four blocked shots each.
- Northeastern outshot the Friars 23-13 overall.Â
The Huskies will next face Holy Cross on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
