WALTHAM— The Northeastern Men's Hockey team fell, 3-1, to Bentley University on Friday evening to close of the 2022 calendar year.
- As the Falcons took an early 2-0 lead to open the first period, the Huskies found their footing and cut the advantage to one goal just over the halfway point. Forcing a turnover in the neutral zone, Jack Hughes and Sam Colangelo went on an offensive rush that set up Gunnarwolfe Fontaine in the slot for an easy tally.
- The Huskies continued their battle throughout the middle frame, but despite their efforts, the score remained 2-1 heading into the final period.
- The game's scoring concluded with a goal by Bentley's Matt Gosiewski in the opening two minutes of the final period for a 3-1 win by the Falcons.
- Netminder Devon Levi finished the night with 23 saves, while Jayden Struble and Jeremie Bucheler each had four blocks.
The Huskies are back on Sunday (Jan. 1) for a New Year's Day matchup with the Harvard University Crimson in Cambridge, Mass. All the action can be streamed on ESPN+, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
