BEIJING—Northeastern women's hockey alumnae Kendall Coyne Schofield '16 and Hayley Scamurra '18 added a silver medal to their trophy cases at the 2022 Beijing Olympics with the U.S. Women's Hockey Team. Team USA claimed silver after being edged by Canada, 3-2, in the gold medal game.
Coyne Schofield, a three-time Olympian, finished the tournament with three goals and three assists for six points. She adds another silver medal after taking home gold at Pyeongchang in 2018 and silver at Sochi in 2014.
Scamurra is a first-time Olympian and earned her first Olympic medal. Scamurra tallied one goal and two assists for three points over the tournament.
Scamurra joins fellow women's hockey alumnae Coyne Schofield, Laura Schuler (1998) and Vicky Sunohara (1998) as the program's Olympians with silver medals.
