BOSTON— Northeastern women's hockey coach
Dave Flint has announced the addition of Maude Poulin-Labelle ahead of the 2022-23 season. A defenseman, Poulin-Labelle will use her final year of eligibility as a graduate student at Northeastern after transferring from fellow Hockey East school Vermont.
Â
"We are very excited Maude has chosen to use her fifth year of eligibility with us," remarked Flint. "She is a very dynamic defenseman who is a strong defender but also creates a lot offensively. Maude will add veteran leadership to our D-corp after graduating five defensemen this year."
Â
A Second Team All-American in 2021-22, Poulin-Labelle was also named Hockey East's Best Defenseman last season alongside Northeastern's own
Skylar Fontaine. Poulin-Labelle posted 35 points in 2021-22, the second-most of any Hockey East defenseman and third-most of any defenseman in the country. Her 35 points also set a single-season record for most points scored by defenseman in Vermont history.
Â
Over her four-year career at Vermont, Poulin-Labelle posted 80 points off 30 goals and 50 assists. The Sherbrooke, Québec native is a three-time Hockey East All-Star and earned First Team honors for the first time in her career in 2021-22.
