Fontaine Signs with ZSC Lions Frauen

BOSTON— Skylar Fontaine of the Northeastern women's hockey team, has signed a contract with the ZSC Lions Frauen of the Swiss Women's League ahead of the 2022-23 season, the team announced Wednesday morning.

Fontaine leaves Northeastern as the most decorated blueliner in program history, tallying 170 points off of 55 goals and 115 assists in 178 games played. A two-time Top-10 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award finalist, Fontaine led the nation this past season with 41 assists. She averaged 1.08 assists per game, making her the first defenseman to end the season leading that stat in the NCAA.

The East Greenwich, Rhode Island native owns the program record for most points scored by a blueliner (170) and games played (178). Fontaine was named Hockey East's Best Defender three times in her career and earned All-America honors four times.
