Women’s Hockey Welcomes Eight Incoming Freshmen

BOSTON—Northeastern women's hockey head coach Dave Flint has announced the addition of eight incoming freshmen ahead of the 2022-23 season. The group includes Holly Abela, Kristina Allard, Avery Anderson, Alyssa Antonakis, Lily Brazis, Jules Constantinople, Mia Langlois and Lily Shannon.
 
"We are excited to add another outstanding group of student athletes to our team this fall," remarked Flint. "This group will have an immediate impact on our program and will allow us to continue to build the culture that our leadership has established. We are looking forward to seeing our incoming class add high-quality depth, and contribute to our already strong returning roster."
 
The freshmen will join transfer Maude Poulin-Labelle as newcomers ahead of this coming season. The group will join a talented Huskies roster that is coming off of a fifth-straight Hockey East Championship and second-straight Frozen Four appearance.
 
Holly Abela
Position: Forward
Hometown: Brampton, Ontario
High School: Brampton Centennial Secondary
Club: Brampton Junior Canadettes
 
  • Gold medalist with Team Canada at the 2022 IIHF U-18 Women's World Championship
  • Team Co-Captain with Brampton Junior Canadettes and Assistant Captain with U-18 Team Ontario
  • Attended Team Canada U-18 Summer Selection Camp
  • Bronze Medalist for Ontario Women's Hockey League
 
Kristina Allard
Position: Defense
Hometown: Kingston, N.H.
High School: St. Paul's School
Club: East Coast Wizards
 
  • Two-time team captain at St. Paul's School
  • Named All-New England and MVP
  • Two-year member of the East Coast Wizards
  • Helped team to a Runner's Up finish at the State Championships in 2022
  • Also played soccer and ran track at St. Paul's School
 
Avery Anderson
Position: Forward
Hometown: Arvada, Colo.
High School: Ralston Valley
Club: Belle Tire
 
  • Played one season with Bell Tire
  • Competed two seasons with Dallas Stars Elite and Team Colorado
  • Joins sister Peyton Anderson the roster
 
Alyssa Antonakis
Position: Forward
Hometown: Elko New Market, Minn.
High School: Minnesota Connections Academy
Club: Belle Tire
  • Played one season for Belle Tire
  • Also spent one season playing for Dallas Stars Elite and Gentry Academy Galaxy
  • With Dallas Stars Elite, helped the team to the National Quarterfinals
 
Lily Brazis
Position: Forward
Hometown: Saugus, Mass.
High School: Cushing Academy
Club: Boston Junior Eagles
 
  • Two-year team captain at Cushing Academy
  • Named All-NEPSAC First Team in 2021-22 and NEPSAC Honorable Mention in 2019-20
  • Totaled 103 points during her career
  • Played two seasons with the Boston Junior Eagles
  • Helped team to Quarterfinals at the USA National Championships
 
Jules Constantinople
Position: Defense
Hometown: East Haven, Conn.
High School: Williston Northampton School
Club: CT Polar Bears
 
  • Named All-NEPSAC First Team in 2019-20 and 2021-22
  • Helped team to Elite Eight Chuck Vernon NEPSAC Championship in 2022
  • Four-year member of the CT Polar Bears
  • Three-time regional champion and three Nationals appearances with the Polar Bears
 
Mia Langlois
Position: Forward
Hometown: Windham, N.H.
High School: Cushing Academy
Club: East Coast Wizards
 
  • Two-time team captain at Cushing Academy
  • Two-time Offensive Player of the Year (2019-20, 2021-22) and NEPSGHIA First Team in 2021-22
  • Tallied 115 points (66 goals, 49 assists) to become first 100-point scorer in over 10 years at Cushing Academy
  • USA Hockey National Development Camp Invitee in 2019 and 2021
  • Three-year member of East Coast Wizards
  • Three-time National Tournament Qualifiers with the Wizards
 
Lily Shannon
Position: Forward
Hometown: Andover, Mass.
High School: The Governor's Academy
Club: Boston Junior Eagles
 
  • Team captain and four-year member of the varsity team at The Governor's Academy
  • Named Team MVP (2018-19, 2021-22), ISL Honorable Mention (2018-19, 2019-20), All-ISL (2021-22) and All-NEPSAC (2021-22)
  • Tallied 85 goals and 62 assists for 147 career points
  • Spent one season with the Boston Junior Eagles, helping the team to the semifinals in the state tournament and quarterfinals in the national tournament
