BOSTON – Senior Alexander Korczynski earned first-place to lead the men to a third-place finish, while the women placed second at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown at Franklin Park today. 

• The women placed second in the 5K event, having four top-25 finishers and an average time of 17:54. 

• Junior Abigail Hassman led the way for Northeastern, posting a sixth-place finish with a time of 17:29. 

• Not far behind were juniors Tessa McClain (14th) and Ava Duggan (19th) with times of 17:44 and 17:55, respectively. 

• Isa Meyers placed 24th with a time of 18:04, while Azza Borovicka-Swanson (18:16), Vivian McMahon (18:29) and Nora Blodgett (18:47) rounded it out for the Huskies.  

• The men took third place in the 8K event, trailing behind just Dartmouth and Virginia with an average time of 24:39. 

• Korczynski got his second win of the season in as many events, posting a time of 23:52 in the 8K to take first place in the event. 

• Matthew Schaefer (24:34) and Patrick Mullen (24:40) earned top-25 finishes, while Benjamin Godish (24:58) and Patrick Cantlon (25:00) crossed over close by at No. 30 and No. 32 

• Rounding it out for the men was Patrick Cullen (25:18) and Kyle Sarney (25:22). 

• In the combined 5K open, Malav Mehta finished second with a time of 15:38, while Nicholas Young placed fifth at 15:45. 

• Tyler Brogan earned a top-ten finish in eighth with a time of 15:53, while Cyrus Kurd was just behind in the 11th spot at 15:56.  

• James Pothier (16:00), Daniel Caso (16:15) and Noah Mooney (16:22) finished it off for the men. 

• Shannon Trevor (19:31) finished sixth on the women's side, while Lucinda Shotts (19:53) and Lucy Abdow (19:59) earned top-20 finishes at 14th and 20th, respectively. Sarah Petersen came in at 20:32. 

Northeastern will compete again at the New England Cross Country Championships on Oct. 8 at Franklin Park.
