McDonough, Levi, Hryckowian Named Hobey Baker Nominees

BOSTON, Mass. – Forwards Aidan McDonough and Justin Hryckowian, as well as goaltender Devon Levi were named nominees for the 2023 Hobey Baker award.

Aidan McDonough
  • McDonough sits as the overall scoring leader in Hockey East for 2022-23 with 15 goals (tied for third in the country), seven-power plays goals (tied for fourth in the NCAA) and 29 points.
  • McDonough is also the NCAA active career leader in goals (61) and power-play goals (28).
  • This season, he has hit three career milestones: 50 career goals, 100 career points and 100 career games played.
  • McDonough tabbed Hockey East Player of the Week honors already this season after a five-point weekend (3g, 2a) en route to a sweep over Vermont.
 
Devon Levi
  • Levi leads the Hockey East conference in three categories: conference wins (8), conference shutouts (3), and con­ference saves (401).
  • His .944 season save percentage is second overall in Hockey East and he has the third best goals against average (1.83).
  • With 33 saves in a shutout against New Hampshire, Levi made program history by setting a new Huskies record with 12 career shutouts in only a season and a half of action.
  • After a weekend sweep over New Hampshire and a 30-save game against UConn, Levi has been named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Week twice this season.
 
Justin Hryckowian
  • Hryckowian ranks as the second overall scoring leader in Hockey East with 11 goals and 305 faceoffs wins. He is also tied for third in game-winning goals (3) and fourth overall in points (25).
  • His 305 faceoff wins this season rank third in the NCAA.
  • In Hockey East play, Hryckowian leads with a +17 rating, 189 faceoff wins, three game-winning goals and is tied for first in conference goals (10).
  • Hryckowian was named the Hockey East Player of the Week after tallying six points in two games against New Hampshire, including his first career hat trick. He was later named the Hockey East Player of the Month for November after recording 13 points (6g, 7a) in seven games.
