BURLINGTON, Vt.— Despite scoring two power-play goals, the Northeastern women's hockey team fell to the No. 15 Vermont Catamounts, 3-2, on Tuesday evening at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
- A minute and eight seconds into the first frame, Vermont gathered up a puck on a miscue from the Northeastern defense and Natalie Mlynkova scored to take an early 1-0 lead for the Catamounts.
- Freshman Allie Lalonde tied the game with a power-play goal at the 8:57 mark of the second frame. Lalonde's tally was assisted by junior Taze Thompson.
- Vermont retook a one goal lead after another breakaway to make the score 2-1 seven minutes later.
- Before the second frame ended, graduate student Peyton Anderson tied the game at 2-2 with another power-play tally for the Huskies. Anderson stole the puck for an unassisted bar down snipe.
- The Catamounts once again retook a one goal lead with a tally at the 8:26 mark of the third period. Rose-Marie Brochu's goal ended up as the game-winner as the Huskies were unable to find the equalizer before the end of regulation.
- Fifth year netminder Gwyneth Philips once again was stellar in net and made 21 saves. Northeastern outshot the Catamounts, 26-24.
Northeastern will face No. 14 Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. in a neutral site match at the Dorothy Talbot Rink in Gloucester, Mass.
