Skylar Irving of the No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team claimed Hockey East Player of the Week honors as announced on Monday.

Irving helped the Huskies to a split weekend against then-No. 10/9 Quinnipiac. She posted a four-point performance in the 4-2 victory over the Bobcats and was involved in all four of the Huskies' goals including scoring the game-winner. The forward posted four blocks over two games against the Bobcats Â

The Kingston, Massachusetts native is tied to lead all Hockey East players with six points and three goals. This award marks her first weekly honor of the season from Hockey East.

Irving and the Huskies are back in action to open Hockey East play against Boston University on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
