DURHAM, N.H. —The Northeastern men's hockey team fell, 3-1, to the New Hampshire Wildcats on Friday night at Whittemore Center.
- The opening goal of the game came with two Husky firsts. Just 1:54 into the game, graduate student Jake Higgins scored his first goal in the Northeastern sweater off a beautiful rip from the point. Higgins was assisted by sophomore Andy Moore and freshman Ben Poitras, who tallied his first collegiate point with the helper.
- Before the halfway point in the first period, UNH would tie the game as it carried over into the next period. The Wildcats would also score the only goal of the middle frame to take a 2-1 lead heading to the final 20 minutes.
- Despite the battle, the Wildcats would tack on two more goals in the third period to skate away with a 4-1 victory.
- Higgins and junior Joaquim Lemay led the Huskies with three blocks apiece, while junior Jack Williams had a team-high eight faceoff wins.
- Sophomore goaltender Cameron Whitehead finished with 27 saves through 59 minutes of action.
