BROOKLINE, Mass. – On Senior Night at Parsons Field, Northeastern (4-5-7, 2-4-2 CAA) took down UNCW (5-8-4, 4-4-0 CAA) by a score of 3-0 on Saturday evening. Four of the seniors honored on Senior Night appeared on the scoresheet as the Huskies struck early and controlled the tempo to win their final game of the season.
- Northeastern jumped out in front in the 17th minute when Griffin Polinsky sent a cross into the box that was volleyed in off the right foot of Sebastian Restrepo, giving NU the early 1-0 lead. It was Restrepo's fourth tally of the season.
- Early in the second half, Kade Tepe sent a long ball from midfield past the UNCW back line – Kevin Ogudugu raced past the defense to meet it and gave himself a one-on-one with the keeper, slotting home his first goal of the season to make it 2-0.
- Just over 10 minutes later it was Kade Tepe scoring his third of the year to make it 3-0 in the 69th minute. It was once again Griffin Polinsky setting up the play, keeping possession away from the defense just outside the box and finding Tepe on the left side wide open for a clear shot.
- Goalkeeper Colby Hegarty made five saves on his Senior Night for his fifth shutout of the year, and the eighth of his career. He finishes the season with a 4-3-5 record in net.
- It's Northeastern's second straight win over UNCW, after the Huskies defeated the Seahawks in Wilmington last September, 3-1.
Northeastern finishes the season 3-1-4 in its last eight games of 2024, outscoring opponents 17-8 in that stretch. The Huskies finished the year 4-2-3 at Parsons Field, with a 18-7 scoring margin.
