Murphy Sweeps Northeastern Diving Invitational

BOSTON — Junior Erin Murphy had a career day in the 3M Dive and missed her own school record in the 1M Dive by just over a point as she swept the Northeastern Diving Invitational at Barletta Natatorium Saturday afternoon.
  • Murphy scored a 311 from the 1-meter board, just 1.45 points away from her own school record of 312.45. She beat her personal best in the 3M Dive, scoring 323.05 with her best dive of the day being a reverse two-and-a-half flip somersault tuck that scored her 61.2 points on that board.
  • Sophomore Anelise Kim followed Murphy with a 287.85 on the 3-meter board, qualifying for the NCAA Zone A Championships, and scored a 273.65 in the 1M Dive to qualify in both events.
  • Senior Lizzie Meschisen's score of 266.35 in the 1M Dive is above the NCAA Zone A cut line as she finished seventh in the event. Meschisen also scored a 263.95 in the 3M Dive.
Next up, the diving team meets back up with the swimmers as they head to the CAA Championships from Feb. 28-March 2 in Hampton, Virginia.
