LOWELL, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team dropped, 4-2, to UMass Lowell in game one of their weekend series on Friday night.

• The River Hawks were able to tally three unanswered goals in 25 minutes of action for a 3-0 lead to start the second.
• Just 5:02 into the middle frame, junior Matt Choupani continued to crash the net on a Husky offensive rush and potted a rebound to cut the deficit to 3-1. Choupani was assisted by graduate student Matt DeMelis and senior Alex Campbell.
• Just before the second period close, UMass Lowell would go up 4-1.
• The Huskies would strike first to start the third period, cutting the River Hawks lead to 4-2. Following a scrum along the boards, freshman Billy Norcross connected across ice with graduate student Brett Edwards for a one timer. Sophomore Hunter McDonald collected the secondary on Edward's fourth goal of the year.
• Despite the Huskies final push, UMass Lowell skated away with the win.
• Captian Justin Hryckowian led both teams with 14 faceoff wins, while McDonald tallied a team-high five shots.

Northeastern are finally back home tomorrow night to close out the weekend series with UMass Lowell. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
