BOSTON— The No. 12 Northeastern women's hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie with the Vermont Catamounts on Saturday night at Matthews Arena to close out the regular season on Senior Night. Vermont won the shootout after six rounds to earn the extra Hockey East point.

Prior to puck drop, Northeastern celebrated the careers of
Peyton Cullaton,
Peyton Anderson,
Katy Knoll,
Gwyneth Philips,
Megan Carter and
Becca Vanstone.
- The two sides skated through two scoreless periods. Carter opened the scoring at the 10:38 mark of the third period with a power-play goal. Carter had assists from fellow graduates Knoll and Philips.
- Vermont tied the game at 1-1 with 2:11 left on the clock with a power-play goal of its own to send the game to overtime.
- Despite holding a 6-3 advantage on shots in OT, the game ended in a 1-1. In the shootout, the Catamounts finally were able to put one past Philips in the sixth round to take the extra point.
- Philips finished her night with 27 saves and one assist. She also stopped five of Vermont's shootout attempts.Â
The Huskies own the No. 2 seed in the Hockey East Tournament and will host a quarterfinal matchup in Matthews Arena on Saturday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. Â
