BOSTON – The Northeastern men's hockey team fell short, 4-3, in a hard-fought battle against UConn Friday night.

• UConn scored three straight goals to open the game, carrying the lead into the second period.
• Sophomore Jack Williams plotted his 17^th goal of the season to put the Huskies on the board at 10:41 of the second period. Assisted by sophomore Vinny Borgesi and junior Justin Hryckowian, Williams was set up for a one timer to cut the deficit.
• In the final minute of the second period, Justin Hryckowian was right on the doorstep to tip in the second goal of the game. Freshman Dylan Hryckowian and sophomore Jackson Dorrington were credited with the helpers.
• Northeastern would tally its third unanswered goal to tie the game, 3-3, at 10:32 in the third period. Borgesi sniped it from the point off a pass from Dylan Hryckowian. Sophomore Hunter McDonald tallied the secondary assist on Borgesi's fourth goal of the season.
• With under five minutes to play, UConn would net their fourth and final goal of the game to secure the win.
• Freshman goaltender Cameron Whitehead made 22 saves in 58 minutes of action.
• Additionally, Justin Hryckowian led both teams with 24 faceoff wins, while graduate student Pito Walton recorded four blocks.

Northeastern will close out their weekend series against UConn tomorrow in Storrs, Conn. with puck drop at 5:00 p.m.
