Justin Hryckowian Signs With Dallas Stars

DALLAS - Northeastern University men's ice hockey's Justin Hryckowian has signed a two-year, entry level contract with the Dallas Stars. Hryckowian, a native of Île Bizard, Quebec, wrapped up his third season as a Husky, serving as team captain. Hryckowian was a consistent force for Northeastern, helping claim back-to-back Beanpot Championships, the program's first Hockey East Regular Season Championship, and a NCAA Tournament bid in 2022.

The forward was named the Hockey East Best Defensive Forward twice in his career, becoming the first-ever two-time recipient in league history. Hryckowian was also named to the Hockey East All-Star team for two consecutive years, finding his name on the second team and third team, respectively.

He finishes his collegiate career with 94 appearances for Northeastern with 35 goals, 66 assists for 101 points, becoming the first Husky to record 100 points as a junior since Adam Gaudette in 2017-18.

In his junior campaign, Hryckowian tallied 43 points in just 32 games played with 13 goals and 30 assists. Again, he is the most recent Northeastern skater to record a 40+ point and 30+ assist season since 2017-18 by the trio of Gaudette, Dylan Sikura and Nolan Stevens. He finished as the NCAA's faceoff percentage leader (61.3) and Hockey East's leader in faceoff wins (424), among skaters with a minimum 200 attempts. Additionally, Hryckowian concluded the 2023-24 slate with 35 blocks and plus-24 rating.

Hryckowian is yet another member of the Northeastern men's hockey program to sign his name to an NHL contract, joining the most recent signees Devon Levi '23 (Buffalo Sabres), Aidan McDonough '23 (Vancouver Canucks) and Jayden Struble '23 (Montreal Canadiens).
