SAN JOSE— Closing out its California trip, the Northeastern women's soccer team tied with the San Jose State Spartans, 1-1, on Sunday afternoon at Spartan Soccer Complex.
- Northeastern fell behind 1-0 after San Jose converted from the penalty spot in the 17th minute.
- In the 31st minute, freshman Lughano Nyondo scored her first career goal to level the score at 1-1. After Maggie Cochran intercepted a clearance from the Spartans, Avery LeVangie played it forward to Nyondo who beat the final defender and goalkeeper to even up the game.
- After a two-goal first half, neither side found the back of the net in the second and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Goalkeeper Eliza Teplow made four saves for the Huskies.Â
The Huskies return to the East Coast to face Harvard in their home opener at Parsons Field on Monday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
