BOSTON— For the second-straight year, the No. 15 Northeastern women's hockey team and Boston University Terriers will meet on TD Garden Ice to decide a champion of the 46th annual Women's Beanpot on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. The Huskies are looking to capture a record 20th Beanpot title overall and third-straight.

The game will be available to watch on NESN in New England and ESPN+ outside of the New England area. Additionally, Canadian viewers can watch on TSN+. Tickets are available here.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BEANS: Northeastern defeated No. 12 Boston College, 4-2, in the opening round of the Beanpot in front of the largest-ever women's hockey crowd of 3,298 fans at Matthews Arena to advance to the Beanpot Championship. NU is 18-11-1 all-time in Championship games in the Beanpot and 1-0-0 in TD Garden. For the 19th time, Northeastern was crowned Beanpot Champions after defeating Boston University, 2-1, in overtime in 2024. Gwyneth Philips earned Bertagna award honors as the tournament's top goaltender and current senior Skylar Irving was named MVP. Senior Taze Thompson and Irving lead the Huskies with five points each in Beanpot games.
  2. A SWEDE SENSATION: Freshman Lisa Jönsson is tied to lead all goaltenders nationally with a .951 save percentage and is second in the nation with a 1.24 GAA. No other freshman ranks in the top-10 of either of those categories. She has posted five shutouts in her first 13 starts. Her five shutouts rank tied for the fifth-best mark in the NCAA and second all-time among NU freshmen netminders. Jönsson is 10-3-0 in her career and tied her career-high with 37 saves against BC to help advance the Huskies to the Beanpot Championship. She was named to the National Goaltender of the Year Watchlist alongside teammate Paige Taborski.
  3. BIG DAWGS GOTTA EAT: Northeastern and Boston University are set to meet in the Beanpot Championship for the second-straight year and fourth time overall on Tuesday. Northeastern owns a 2-0-1 record in Beanpot Championship games against BU, with the one NCAA tie being a Beanpot victory for NU in double overtime. The Huskies are 19-5-4 all-time in the Beanpot against the Terriers.  The Terriers and NU split their two previous meetings this season with each side taking home a 4-0 victory. Jönsson made her first career start in the loss to BU earlier this season. BU defeated Harvard, 2-1, in overtime to advance to the Beanpot Championship. The Terriers dropped to UNH, 2-0, in between Beanpot games. Julia Shaunessy leads the Terriers with 14 points, second-most among all Hockey East defensemen. Callie Shanahan has played the bulk of the minutes in net for the Terriers, she owns a 1.69 GAA and .924 save percentage.
Northeastern will next host Merrimack on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.
