GLOUCESTER, Mass.— The No. 7 Northeastern women's hockey team fell to the No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions, 4-1, in a neutral site matchup at the Dorothy Talbot Rink on Saturday afternoon.
- Senior Lily Shannon gave the Huskies an early 1-0 lead at 7:19 of the first period, finishing a play from freshman Stryker Zablocki and junior Peyton Compton.
- Penn State tied the game early in the second period when Taylor Lum scored. Katelyn Roberts put the Nittany Lions ahead for good at 11:20 of the middle frame, converting assists from Tessa Janecke and Sophie Morrow.
- In the third, Maddy Christian extended Penn State's lead to 3-1 at 5:55 before Mikah Keller added an insurance marker at 14:28 to bring the final score to 4-1.
- Sophomore goaltender Lisa Jönsson made 27 saves for the Huskies.
The Huskies will now return to Hockey East play, taking on New Hampshire on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
