Borgesi, Hryckowian, Zacher Named Hobey Baker Nominees

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Vinny Borgesi and juniors Dylan Hryckowian and Lawton Zacher were named nominees for the 2026 Hobey Baker award.

Vinny Borgesi
  • Borgesi paces Northeastern's blue line in goals (4), assists (12), and points (16)—the third-highest total on the roster. He's contributed one game-winning goal, one power-play marker, and a team-best 43 blocked shots.
  • Among Hockey East defensemen, his nine conference assists are second-most among all league skaters, his 11 points are tied for second, his two goals rank third, and his 27 blocked shots place fourth.
  • The Philadelphia native has collected two conference honors this season, earning Hockey East Defender of the Week recognition on Oct. 20 and Nov. 3.
  • Over his past ten games, the 5-8 blue liner has tallied nine points on two goals and seven assists.
Dylan Hryckowian
  • In his junior campaign, Hryckowian has produced 28 points on 13 goals and 15 assists across 21 games—a 1.33 points-per-game clip. He's also posted a team-leading 72 shots, one game-winning goal, 12 blocks, and a plus-seven rating.
  • The Quebec native earned Hockey East Player of the Month honors in November after posting ten points on five goals and five assists—the most of any conference skater during that span.
  • His 16 conference points lead all Hockey East skaters this season, while his eight league goals are tied for the most in the conference.
  • The 5-10 forward has been scorching lately with ten points (4g, 6a) over his last six outings, including a streak of three straight two-point performances.
Lawton Zacher
  • In his debut season with the Huskies, Zacher owns a 10-7-0 record while starting all 17 games, compiling 478 saves across 1014:45 minutes of ice time. He currently boasts a .934 save percentage and 2.01 goals against average.
  • The New York native has collected one national award and four conference honors this season: Hockey Commissioner's Association national Goalie of the Month in October, Hockey East Goaltender of the Month in October, two Hockey East Goaltender of the Week selections, and Hockey East Player of the Week.
  • Zacher's outstanding performance has him tied for first nationally in shutouts (4) and third in save percentage (.934), while placing tenth in goals against average (2.01).
  • In conference play, he's tied for first in shutouts (2), second in save percentage (.932), third in goals against average (2.10), and fourth in both saves (288) and wins (6).
