SCHENECTADY, N.Y.— The No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team fell to RPI, 2-1, in overtime on Friday afternoon at M&T Bank Center. With the loss, Northeastern opens its season at 0-1-0.
- The Huskies were unable to breakthrough in the first or second period. The two sides went into the third period tied at 0-0.
- Graduate student Grace Sadura scored the first goal of the season for the Huskies to put NU ahead 1-0 in the third. Sadura's goal was assisted by her linemates senior Allie Lalonde and junior Morgan Jackson.
- RPI tied the game at 1-1 just over six minutes after Sadura's goal with a power-play tally. Â
- The game ended in regulation tied at 1-1. At the 2:55 mark of overtime, RPI scored the game-winner to claim the 2-1 victory over the Huskies.
- Sophomore netminder Renna Trembecky made 12 saves.
Northeastern next opens Hockey East play at Providence on Friday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m.
