Box Score STORRS, Conn. – The No. 5 and top-seeded Northeastern women's hockey team fell in the Hockey East Championship game 2-1 in double overtime to the second-seeded and No. 6 Connecticut Huskies at the Toscano Family Ice Forum on Saturday evening.
- The first period was scoreless, with sophomore goaltender Lisa Jönsson making 12 saves.
- UConn opened the scoring at 2:22 in the first period to take a 1-0 lead.
- Northeastern answered at 7:03 with a power-play goal from junior Rylie Jones. The snipe from above the right faceoff circle was assisted by freshman Stryker Zablocki and freshman Ella Lloyd. Northeastern and UConn went into the second intermission tied at one.
- Neither team scored in the third period, sending the game to overtime. Another scoreless period forced the two teams to go into a second overtime period.
- With 4:37 left in the second overtime, UConn scored to end the game and take home a 2-1 victory.
- Jönsson made a career-high 53 saves.
- Senior Jules Constantinople and sophomore Morgan Jackson were each named to the Hockey East All-Tournament team.
