AMESBURY, Mass.— The No. 5/4 Northeastern women's hockey team was picked as champions in the Hockey East preseason head coaches' poll as announced by the league on Wednesday. The Huskies received eight first-place votes to top the poll with 89 points.
The Huskies are coming off a Hockey East Regular Season Championship and Frozen Four run for the fourth time in program history. Northeastern returns the Hockey East Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in
Stryker Zablocki as well as All-Hockey East returners
Lisa Jönsson,
Kristina Allard and
Morgan Jackson.
Northeastern has added six freshmen and two transfers ahead of the upcoming season.
The Huskies open the 2026-27 season at RPI on Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m.
