Men's, Women's XC Both Place Third At Maribel Sanchez Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. - The Northeastern cross country team competed in the Maribel Sanchez Invitational today, hosted by Dartmouth College. The men's team, led by senior Ryan Sarney, finished third with 98 points. The women's team, led by grad student Molly Latincsics, finished third with 84 points. 

MEN 

  • Sarney finished sixth overall with a time of 24:54.4, three-tenths of a second before the next finisher. 

  • Grad student Hayden Kuhn finished second for the Huskies and 12th overall with a time of 25:05.1. 

  • Junior Nico Boyle finished third for the Huskies and 25th overall with a time of 25:25.0, 2.4 seconds before the next finisher. 

  • Sophomore Dawson French finished fourth for the Huskies and 27th overall with a time of 25:27.6 

  • Senior Ryan Gruczka finished fifth for the Huskies and 31st overall with a time of 25:31.7, 2.2 seconds before the next finisher.  

WOMEN 

  • Latincsics finished fourth overall with a time of 21:04.6. 

  • Grad student Meghan Rentner finished second for the Huskies and sixth overall with a time of 21:07.6, three seconds after Latincsics. 

  • Freshman Evelin Pires finished third for the Huskies and 13th overall with a time of 21:41.3. 

  • Junior Emily McCann finished fourth for the Huskies and 28th overall with a time of 22:12.1, 3.8 seconds before the next finisher. 

  • Sophomore Kirsten Melnik finished fifth for the Huskies and 33rd overall with a time of 22:24.0, 2.7 seconds before the next finisher.  

The Huskies will now turn their attention to the IC4A/ECAC Championships, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17, in Farmingdale, N.Y.
