Before Northeastern: Played 53 games for the Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL) in 2018-19, scoring 17 goals and making 32 assists … Led team and was tied for eighth in the USHL in power play assists (15) … Was awarded USHL Forward of the Week on Dec. 10 after recording two two-goal games, one of which was a three-point game in which he scored the overtime winner … Played two seasons with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, totaling 24 points on 10 goals and 14 assists.
 
Madigan on Walsh: "TJ is an exceptionally gifted offensive player with tremendous offensive instincts and has the ability to be a play maker and distribute as well as score goals. He can give us some flexibility by being skilled enough on offense to play either center or either one of the wings. His skill can really complement a line, no matter which one he is playing with. He will really help us with some of the offense that we lost this past year. I am excited for what he has to bring to our program and team this year."
