NCAA East Regional Championship
May 27-28, 2005
Bronx, NY

Junior pole vaulter Laura Chmielewski qualified for the NCAA Championship, leading the Huskies' contingent at the NCAA East Regional Championship on Friday and Saturday in Bronx, N.Y. Chmielewski cleared 12'8.75 in a jump-off to claim the fifth and final automatic qualifying position in that event.

Senior Ahndraea Allen just missed qualifying in the 400 with an eighth place finish, but Allen may still qualify for the NCAA Championship by virtue of her NU record time of 52.77 at the ECAC Championship two weeks earlier.

Northeastern's 4x100 relay of Allen, Jordine Kimbrel, Tramaine Shaw and Shanae Henry placed 10th in the preliminaries in a time of 45.79, missing the finals by two places. In the 4x400 relay, the Huskies' team of Shaw, Kimbrel, Charity Briggs and Allen took 14th in 3:44.21.

Kimbrel also competed in the 100 meter dash, placing 13th in the preliminaries in a time of 11.89 and Shaw placed 23rd in the 100 hurdles in 14.22.
