Brad Thiessen (active 2007-09) is the program's all-time leader in career goals against average (2.40) and career save percentage (.922). Thiessen ranks second at NU in wins (52) and shutouts (9), and third in career saves with 3,166. 
 
In 2009, Thiessen was named the Hockey East Player of the Year, a member of the Hockey East All-Star team, a Hobey Baker finalist and an All-American. In addition to a number of Hockey East monthly honors, he also won the Hockey East ITECH Goaltending Champion and Three Stars Award. Thiessen finished the 2008-09 season with a .931 save percentage and 1,195 total saves, helping his team to an NCAA tournament appearance.

He also took home the Eberly Award for the top goalie in the Beanpot two years in a row, making 70 total saves in 2008 and 74 total saves in 2009.
 
He was named the Northeastern men's hockey Most Valuable Player in the 2006-07 and 2008-09 seasons.
