Charles “Chuck” Lavrentios (class of 1983) lettered in Football at NU from 1979-1981. He was known for his consistency and leadership by example. Lavrentios was both an offensive guard and co-captain of the 1981 Northeastern University football team.

Lavrentios had an excellent ability to read and adapt to defensive changes capitalizing on the assignments of his teammates to gain a blocking edge against opponents and few were quicker in a 10 yard square than Lavrentios. Grading offensive lineman is an inexact science, but there is no position that requires more discipline or technique. Records for receptions, yards gained, and points scored are the accolades for others in positions that directly benefit from the execution of the front line. It was during Lavrentios’ career from the 1978-1981 that many NU passing and receiving records were established and of which many still stand in 2015. The fact that these records were established during Lavrentios’ tenure is testimony to the offensive lineman’s contributions.

Lavrentios saw limited play time his freshman year in 1978, but made that time count. With the team down against Maine late in the fourth quarter and a winning season at stake, Lavrentios blocked a punt on Maine’s 20 yard line which set up the winning score of the game led by quarterback Bob Colagero giving NU its first winning season in five years. Lavrentios started in every game for the next three years. After graduating in 1983, he co-founded "The Amaroq Club" a friends of football association with teammates Alec Szymanski and Scott Balaguer. A devoted alumnus, he continues to support NU fund raising efforts for the business school, athletics program, and the Varsity Club. He is a member of the Northeastern University Husky Cornerstone Club and the NU Athletic Fund Raising Committee.

He and his wife Tatyana are the proud parents of four children which include two NU Huskies. He earned an MBA from Babson College and he is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Harbor Point Capital Management.
