Tim Scannell (Class of 1991) finished his Northeastern career earning All-NAC Honors and Greater Boston League Honors in his junior and senior seasons.  The four-year starter and two-year captain finished with a career .345 batting average which ranks sixth all-time at Northeastern.  The outfielder’s 62 career stolen bases has him ranked third all time.  He was known for terrorizing the base paths as he led his team in stolen bases three out of four years.  In his junior year, Scannell not only led his team in stolen bases with 22, the fifth highest single season mark in Northeastern history, but he also led the team with a .344 batting average.  His efforts helped his team finish with a 101-78-2 record during his four seasons.

His outstanding career picked right back up after his senior season, only this time in coaching.  He spent time as an assistant at UMass before returning to Northeastern where they went on to win the NAC Title and advance to the 1994 NCAA DI Baseball Tournament.  Greater success came with his move to Trinity where he remains today.  His 602-229-career record after the 2016 season made him one of, if not the most, successful Head Coach to ever coach the Trinity Tigers.  His .724 career winning percentage places him in the top-10 among active Division III coaches.

It was here where Scannell continued to take home championships.  He tacked on nine Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships and the 2016 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship while at Trinity.  His individual efforts have been recognized as the SCAC Coach of the Year nine times, the 2015 NCAA Division III West Region Coach of the Year, and the 2016 National Coach of the Year.
