Steve Langton (Class of 2006) held personal bests of 6.49 seconds in the 55-meter dash, 10.58 seconds in the 100-meter dash, and 7.04 meters in the long jump. During his tenure with the track and field team, Langton placed third in the 100-meter dash at the 2004 Outdoor America East Championships and third in the 55-meter dash at the 2005 Indoor America East Championships.
 
Langton can also be found in the ranks of Northeastern’s All-Time Performance lists. He is ranked tenth in the 4x100 meter relay (41.06 seconds), eleventh in the 60-meter dash (7.05 seconds), and fourteenth in the 100-meter dash (10.88 seconds).
 
Following his time at Northeastern, Langton found immense success with the U.S. Men’s Bobsled team. He won Rookie of the Year in 2008 and was awarded consecutive U.S National Push Championship titles between 2009 and 2012. Langton has received 21 World Cup medals – eleven gold, seven silver, and three bronze. Additionally, he won one gold medal and three silver medals in the 2011-2012 Europa Cup and two gold medals in the 2012 World Championships.

Langton competed with the U.S Olympic team in Vancouver and Sochi. At the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, he helped make history by winning the bronze medal in two-man bobsled, the first U.S. medal in the sport since 1952. Langton also captured a second bronze medal at Sochi in the four-man bobsled.
 
The 2014-15 bobsled season was a rest period for Langton as he considered his options going forward in the sport. Prior to the 2015-16 season, he announced his retirement. Langton now wishes to help other athletes pursue and achieve their own athletic endeavors.
