Stats of the Game: 2018 Beanpot semifinals
TEAM
• Northeastern advances to its 18th Beanpot championship game and first since 2015. The Huskies are in pursuit of their first Beanpot championship since 1988.
• The Huskies recorded their sixth Beanpot shutout and first since Feb. 7, 2011, when NU blanked Harvard, 6-0, during the semifinal round. Two of Northeastern's six Beanpot shutouts have taken place against Boston College.
• Northeastern improved its Beanpot winning streak to eight consecutive games when scoring the game's first goal.
• The Huskies have now won three straight Beanpot games against Boston College, their longest winning streak against the Eagles in tournament history.
• Monday marked the first time since the 2008-09 season that Northeastern has defeated Boston College twice in a season.
• Monday was Northeastern's third shutout of the season, tied for the fifth most in a season in program history.
• Northeastern has now allowed one goal or fewer in 12 games, the most since the 2008-09 season.
INDIVIDUAL
• Dylan Sikura scored his 50th career goal on Monday night, while also adding an assist. He moved into a tie for 21st place on Northeastern’s all-time assists list (80).
• With three points during the 2018 Beanpot semifinal, Adam Gaudette now leads the NCAA with 42 points this season. The senior also became the 18th Husky since 1956 to reach 40 points during consecutive seasons. He also remains Northeastern's active Beanpot points leader (nine), distancing himself from Nolan Stevens (eight), who earned two points during Monday's semifinal.
• Cayden Primeau recorded a season high 37 saves, the most by a Northeastern goaltender during a Beanpot shutout performance since Chris Rawlings' 41 saves during the 2011 semifinal round against Harvard. He is also the second NU freshman goaltender to win a Beanpot game during the last three seasons (Ryan Ruck, 2016 consolation game).
• Primeau recorded his third shutout of the season, tied for the 11th most in the NCAA and one shy of tying the Northeastern freshman record held by Brad Thiessen (2006-07).
• Nolan Stevens scored his second career Beanpot goal, adding an his assist to notch his ninth multi-point game of the year.
