2019: Raced with the third varsity in the two seat against Northeastern and No. 12 Penn’s second varsities, finishing second ahead of No. 12 Penn with a time of 5:55.89 in the Burk Cup (Mar. 30) … Helped the third varsity to a time of 6:06.78 in the two seat against No. 2 Washington (Apr. 6) … Was the two seat as the third varsity took on No. 18 Oregon State, earning victory with a time of 6:06.5 (Apr. 6) … Sat in the two seat for the third varsity as they defeated No. 13 Stanford with a time of 5:58.78 (Apr. 7) … Raced in the two seat for the third varsity as they defeated Boston University with a time of 5:46.70 in the Arlett Cup (Apr. 14) … Stroked the varsity four to victory over No. 5 Brown with a time of 7:50.8 in the Dreissigacker Cup (Apr. 20)...Was the two seat as the third varsity finished in 5:53.5, losing to No. 3 Harvard at the Smith Cup (May 4)…Sat two seat for third varsity, finishing in 5:50.1 to defeat No. 14 Wisconsin in the petite finals of the Congram Cup (May 5)... Stroked varsity four to a 6:53.40  finish, earning fourth in the afternoon Repechage at the IRA Championships (May 31).

2017: Sat in the four seat for the third varsity against Boston University (Apr. 7), finishing first with a time of 6:29.3 … Was the four seat for the third varsity at Brown (Apr. 15), helping the boat to a first place finish at 6:35.3 ... Was the four seat of the third varsity against Harvard (Apr. 29), finishing second with a time of 6:09.985 … In the four seat, helped the third varsity to a victory against Wisconsin (Apr. 30) at 5:51.9 … Helped the third varsity to an eighth place finish nationally in the three seat at the IRA Championships (Jun. 2-4) with a second place finish in the Petite Final (5:54.189).

Before NU: Attended Duxbury High School for four years and rowed at the Duxbury Bay Maritime School (MPSRA) for four seasons …  Also swam for one year in high school … Was the founding member and captain of the Duxbury High School robotics team and also served as co-chair of the Principle’s Advisory at Duxbury.
 
Personal: Brendan McCarthy … Born to Aileen and Daniel McCarthy … Has two siblings, Sean and Kelly … His cousins Meg Galloway (Yale) and Hannah McCarthy (Fordham), as well as his aunt Christine O’Sullivan (Cornell), all rowed in college, while his uncle Brendan O’Sullivan played basketball at Dartmouth … Intends to major in political science and business administration … Class of 2021.
