Biography
2020-21:
- Guided the first varsity eight to a sixth place finish as the stroke seat in the Grand Final at the IRA Championships with a final time of 6:16.7 (5/29)
- Led the first varsity eight to a lead over Brown University crossing the finish line at 5:32.8 (5/8)
- In the stroke seat, led the varsity eight crew to an open-water victory against Boston University clocking in at 6:16.7 (5/2)
- Denied No. 10 Wisconsin a lead, crossing the finish line 9.5 seconds ahead of the Badgers in the varsity eight crew as the stroke seat (5/1)
- Stroked the varsity eight in a 6:02.4 finish over Boston University (4/10)
2019-20:
- Did not compete in the spring 2020 due to COVID-19
- As the five seat, crossed the finish line at 14:29.3 in 22nd-place at the Head of the Charles (10/23)
2018-19:
- Helped the second varsity to a time of 5:46.77 from the bow seat, defeating No. 12 Penn in the Burk Cup (Mar. 30)
- Sat in the four seat as first varsity recorded a time of 5:53.6, defeating No. 18 Oregon State (Apr. 6)
- In the four seat, helped first varsity defeat No. 13 Stanford with a time of 5:40.56 (Apr. 7)
- Sat two seat against Boston University, helping the first varsity to a time of 5:49.40 as they retained the Arlett Cup (Apr. 14)
- Sat four seat for second varsity, finishing in 5:45.3 to defeat No. 14 Wisconsin at the Congram Cup (May 5)
- Stroked the first varsity to a fifth place finish in the Grand Final(5:41.346) at the IRA Championships (June 2).
Before NU: Rowed with SC Magdeburg Abteilung, becoming German Junior Champion in quad in 2016 and double in 2017… Placed fourth at the Junior World Championship in 2017.
Personal: Born to Andreas and Heike Berend ... Has one brother, Tim … Enjoys fishing, cycling, and watching movies … Will graduate Northeastern with a major in business administration.
