Cam Omsberg

Cam Omsberg enters his sixth season as the assistant coach of the Northeastern men's soccer team during 2021, having arrived at Northeastern in February 2016.

COACHING EXPERIENCE
  • Served three seasons as the top assistant coach of the Bates men's soccer team (2013-15)
  • Helped Bates recruit the program's first NSCAA High School All-American
  • Helped Bates receive three NSCAA Team Academic Awards
  • Tutored 19 student-athletes that earned NESCAC All-Academic selections
  • Aided in the development of the program's first All-NESCAC sophomore since 2008, Peabo Knoth (2015 All-NESCAC Second Team)
  • Helped Bates to its best record (7-5-3) in over a decade (2015)
  • Helped coach the Bates backfield to seven shutouts and only 18 goals against (2015)
  • Coached with GPS Maine, where he directed the Under-16, U-17, and U-18 boys' teams for three years and the U-20 men’s squad for one year (2015-19)
  • Currently is a GPS Massachusetts U-17 NPL team and is the college placement coordinator for the GPS Massachusetts boys' and girls' teams
AMATEUR CAREER
  • Played five seasons in the Professional Development League with GPS Portland Phoenix (2010-12, 2014) and Seacoast United (2015)
  • Member of two Northeast Division championship teams (2012, 2015) 
  • 2012 Jim Dedeus All-Star XI
COLLEGE CAREER (LEHIGH UNIVERSITY)
  • Played in 47 games, starting 44 from 2009 to 2012
  • Captain for two years (2011-12)
  • 2012 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award finalist
  • Part of a Mountain Hawks’ defending unit that set Patriot League records in fewest goals conceded (eight), most shutouts (11), and lowest goals against average (0.41)
  • 2011 All-Patriot League Second Team
  • 2011 All-Patriot League Tournament Team
