Neill Caine is a native of Northampton, England and moved to the United States in 2006. In England, Caine played and coached for a number of top clubs, most notably Northampton Town Football Club. He began coaching at the age of 16. During his coaching years in England, Caine also coached for Leicester City FC.
Since moving to the United States, Caine has gained a wide range of coaching experience. During his career in Massachusetts, he has coached for a number of leading club teams, USL PDL teams and Brandeis University. In his first season at Brandeis, the team set a new shutout record, recording 14 shutouts in 23 games, topping the previous record by three. Caine helped the team reach the 'NCAA Elite Eight' for the first time in the school's history. Â Â
Other past coaching positions have included New England Revolution, where he worked with the U14, U16 & U18 Academy goalkeepers. Caine is currently serving as the goalkeeping director for FC Boston Bolts Academy.
He also served as the goalkeeping/assistant coach for Boston University men's soccer team during the 2013 season before making the move to Northeastern.
Caine currently holds a number of coaching qualifications, including his FA badge, NSCAA Goalkeeping, Advanced regional and National diploma.Â
Caine resides in Dorchester, Mass. with his wife, Meghan. Caine is the founder and owner of Number 1 Goalkeeping (
www.number1goalkeeping.com), which runs professional and organized goalkeeping training in New England.Â
