Nancy Rowe begins a new chapter as an assistant coach for the Northeastern track & field team in 2009-10. Rowe willl earn her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern in May 2010.

Rowe touts an accomplished four-year career in the field as a Husky, primarily in the javelin and high jump. The Pine Beach, N.J. native has won seven javelin titles, including the 2009 CAA Championship, and one high jump crown.

As a senior, Rowe claimed the 2009 CAA Championship with a pitch of 138’1 in the javelin. Two years prior, Rowe was was the runner-up in the same event, clearing 142’2 in 2008 and registered a career-best of 142’6 in 2007. Rowe’s career-long throw also stands as the Northeastern javelin record by over five feet.

Rowe found her comfort zone on Husky soil as she earned victories at the Husky Spring Invitational in 2009 (133’1) and 2008 (128’9), the Solomon Husky Invitational in 2009 (123’4) and 2008 (128’9) and the Northeastern Spring Open (129’0) in 2007. She also won the high jump at the Husky Spring Invitational (4’11.75) as a senior.

Rowe’s career best in the javelin at the 2007 CAA Championship played an integral part in the women’s 2007 CAA Outdoor Track & Field title, the first conference championship for Northeastern since joining the league.
