Neil Baroody

The 2018-19 season will mark assistant coach Neil Baroody's third with the Huskies.

The 2017-18 was a successful one for Baroody as he coached Kyle Darrow in the long jump to reach the NCAA Tournament. In his first season at NU, Baroody led sophomore Paige Suse to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor East Regional Championship and coached rookie Travis Kartz to CAA gold in the pole vault.

Prior to joining the Huskies, Baroody spent two years at the University of Oklahoma, working with the vertical jumps and combined event athletes. Along with daily training, Baroody assisted with devising the strength and conditioning programs, assisting in the weight room, video analysis of the vertical jumps, team logistics and recruiting.

The 2015-16 cross country and track and field seasons were some of the most successful in Sooner history. Baroody was part of a coaching staff that recruited and developed eleven All-Americans, six Big-12 champions, took 15th at the NCAA cross country championships and took 2nd at the women's Big-12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Baroody directly worked with athletes who own 15 spots on the OU Top 10 All-Time list, three school record holders, 17 Big-12 scorers and seven NCAA qualifiers.

Baroody is USATF Level I Certified, holds the USTFCCCA Strength and Conditioning certification in addition to the Sprints, Hurdles, Relays and Jumps Certifications with USTFCCCA.

Baroody hails from Londonderry, N.H. and earned his bachelor of science degree in kinesiology-exercise science from the University of New Hampshire in 2013. While at New Hampshire, Baroody was a sprinter for the track and field team.
