James G. Chan was named assistant coach for the Huskies' 2023-24 season.
Prior to joining the Huskies, Chan swam at Springfield College (2019-2023). He was named to 2023 Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC), Individual Scholar All-America Honors by College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). He was 3-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team, 3-time NEWMAC Swimmer of the Week. At Springfield College, he was 11-time record holder, including 100 Fly, 200 Fly, and 500 Free, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay, and 800 Free Relay, selected as Outstanding Individual Sport Male Athletes (2023), was 3-time Maroon Club Athletes of Week, on the Dean’s List for seven semesters, and was selected as the Commencement speaker in May 2023.
During his undergraduate year, he was a co-founder and Co-President of Asian Cultural Club. He was a member of Hong Kong National Swimming Team in 2019-2023, holding American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Certification and Lifeguarding Certification.
Chan earned B.S. in Health Sciences from Springfield College (2023) and is pursuing Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Northeastern University now.
